A construction project that meets the needs of the Greater Montreal population
Le repos Saint-François d’Assise is pleased to announce the construction of new phases of its L’Espoir | La Speranza mausoleum-columbarium on its Montreal site.
Until the early 1980s, the clients of Le repos Saint-François d’Assise preferred traditional burial. Today, almost 75% opt for cremation services.
In an ongoing effort to meet the needs of families, Le repos Saint-François d’Assise launched construction work on a new mausoleum-columbarium in February 2026, expected to be completed in February 2029.
In addition, Le repos Saint-François d’Assise has already begun long-term planning for the needs of its clients. Since 1999, they have been implementing a development master plan for part of the site, aiming to build 11 new phases of mausoleums-columbariums.
Numerous Benefits for the Montreal Community
The development of Le repos Saint-François d’Assise offers Greater Montreal residents access to significant green spaces. These spaces will be enhanced and improved during the construction of the new mausoleum-columbarium. The plan includes planting several trees and making several additional improvements around the building.
